Program Description

Event Details

A five-part educational series on diabetes will be held on November 25 and December 2, 9, and 16. at 10:00 a.m. at the Garyville library. This program helps adults at risk for type 2 diabetes, who are pre-diabetic or who have diabetes and their families/caregivers learn how to manage their condition through menu planning, carbohydrate counting, portion control, and label reading.

Participants have the opportunity to sample healthful foods using the concepts taught in class.

The program will be conducted by Rinalda Rocquin, Nutrition and Community Health Agent with LSU AgCenter in St. John and Colleen Levy, a Registered Nurse.

Participants will receive all the information presented at each class.
