Event Details

We invite you to add your favorite things to our time capsule during National Library Week, April 19-25, by using prompts to place in the “capsule.” Select prompts of the things you’d like to add, such as your favorite book, library photos, a letter to your future self, drawings, a list of popular songs and movies, or your favorite food. Write your initials on your items, and when we open it a year from now, we can look back to see what has changed about you and the world around you.

A time capsule is a container—such as a decorated shoebox or jar—filled with personal mementos, photos, and letters to their future selves, intended to be sealed and hidden away to be opened years later. It acts as a fun, reflective activity for children to capture memories of their current life, interests, and accomplishments.
