Program Description

Event Details

Celebrate the start of summer with our 2026 “Plant a Seed, Read” Summer Reading Kick-off, a lively, hands-on event designed to inspire young readers and growing minds! Kids can explore a variety of interactive activities, including a bubble house, snoball truck, creative MakerSpace stations, and a seed planting experience. Each child will receive a plant journal to decorate, along with seeds to take home and nurture their own garden. Budding artists can craft unique seed art using beans and seeds or create colorful chalk art outdoors.

Families can also get all the details on this year’s Summer Reading Challenge and learn how to sign up using the Beanstack app or a paper reading log. Be sure to register during the event; participants of all ages can earn fun incentives just for joining the program. Additional incentives are unlocked by logging reading minutes and completing different activities at your library this summer, and those who complete the program are eligible for a grand prize drawing!
