On the first Saturday in February, libraries across the country celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day to raise awareness for libraries as a space for kids to play, make friends, and discover a lifelong passion for learning.
Stop by any of our branches on February 3rd to enjoy activity tables designed for children ages 11 and under and their families. Activities include:
- Color your own bookmark
- Play with LEGOs
- Decorate Mardi Gras masks
- Build a structure with straws and connectors
- Library scavenger hunt
Two special guests will appear at the LaPlace Library:
- Save the day with the Red Power Ranger at 11 AM.
- Local author January Scott will visit at 1 PM to discuss her four faith-filled children's books, including, "Will There Ever Be a Mrs. Edna Again?"
