Pumpkin Grab & Greaux (June 1st - July 6th)

Harvesting pumpkins in October begins with planting seeds in June and early July. This program will provide free seeds and informational resources for children and adults to grow pumpkins at home. Visit any Library Branch from June 1st to July 6th and choose between seeds from four pumpkin varieties.

Then, in October, bring your harvested pumpkins back to the library to be judged for prizes! Awards will be given for the largest pumpkin, smallest (fully grown) pumpkin, and best records kept. St. John the Baptist Parish Library will also host a pumpkin decorating demonstration and contest in October.
